Ok, I've already started. It'll either be finished Sunday evening/4am Monday morning (UK Time) or at most, the 13th February as long as nothing goes wrong.

That's a motivated idea, but it is the wrong way to go. Someone should make the patches optional (via gconf keys), so that we can integrate them all into the CSSU version, and have one single version. Installing .debs from other repositories is dangerous, and in order to comply with the license, all modified versions must be distributed with source code or a source code offer (which I believe is not the case for most .debs posted in this thread).

It's not that difficult to dig around the hildon-desktop source code (I mean, even I can do it, so it can't be that hard), so adding another configuration option or two should not really be an issue?

not sure if this is what you mean.. but:

we should have ONE MHD. and be able to config it in settings menu.

blur: y/n, amount?
kinetic scrolling: y/n, speed
desaturation: y/n
etc
etc

that would be the best way IMHO.

I had already considered that but don't have the knowledge or the time to gain the knowledge of how to do it.

Perhaps this can be included in Theme Customizer. It would be perfect for further theme customization. Maybe someone could to talk to those behind Theme Customizer to get thier interest in including it.

I've created a patch to make blurless desaturation switchable via transitions.ini (this works already), and am currently working on doing the same for single-column and two-column layouts. Is anyone using the horizontal layout task switcher, btw? I could add support for it as well, but as it's a big buggy and not that useful, I would have left it out for now if nobody is using it..
