I'm not sure I need to defend myself at all. I'm not here to troll, I'm here to talk about my experience and share whatever I'm learning along the way.

Isn't it ironic for you to wander into a thread about an Android device to claim you don't troll? Why do you feel the need to troll an Android thread to defend your N900 purchase? I'd LOVE to see you try to troll Android forums and do your best to share useful information. I'm on the Android XDA forums. Go there! I dare you.

Yeah looking at the posts you do in every single thread that's what you do alright.

Clearly. You're the guy who is doing what you're claiming me to be. I also didn't go into threads to post personal attacks on you, which is far worse.

What are you even talking about? If it's the posts responding to lolloo, check his post history. It's clearly a joke/troll account. Doesn't even try to be subtle about it. Yeah, I don't like trolls very much and I openly admit it. Sue me.

Anyway, it's pretty obvious that you don't like the n900 very much (don't own one either), so why are you constantly posting in threads to complain about it's features or comparing it to other devices and mobile OSs? Doesn't really make much sense.

Mainly to contrast it against what IS out there. More importantly to point out where Maemo could/should improve. I used to also follow and post in the bugtracking site until they stopped bothering with N800 Maemo updates (which were rife with WONTFIXes and FIXED IN FREMANTLE). Is that the same as trolling? Why are you in this thread?

Getting back on the thread's topic, though... it seems that a new ClockworkMod compatible kernel has finally been released for the Verizon version of the Galaxy Tab in addition to the already-modded kernel for the T-Mobile version. It effectively converts the jfs(?) partition on the tablet over to ext4 and installs the ClockworkMod firmware.

I haven't loaded it and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone yet, though. I've read many forum posts on XDA about people who're running into various problems with nandroid restores. It's still very early but once they iron it out, it'll let the Verizon version of the tablet take advantage of nandroid to make full-system images of the tablet and restore back to any point.

It seems Samsung has confirmed the next Tab (and their next line of smartphones) will have Tegra2s.

Edit: Kinda curious to see what Apple does with iPad v2 to compete with Android.

I think they'd already suggested that ages ago--the Tab really is their first foray into the tablets. I'm hoping that by having dived into a Galaxy Tab, consumers might at least confirm that there IS an interested market in this mid-sized tablet range (7-inch).

I am VERY sure that the Tab is the only reason why there'll even be an iPad v2 this quickly with cameras and all. Until Apple gets honest-to-God competition, they tended to be happy with lazy progress. (i.e. 1st gen vs 2nd gen iPhones, iTouch, iPods, etc. back when there wasn't very good competition).
