As I read on MWKN "promise of Maemo 5 community SSU" I tought that would be the perfect place for both openobex and obexd package, right?

Hmm, sorry this is slightly off the topic but I was just thinking - what if I was to restore using the backuo I made pre PBAP and just restored the settings part? Would this restore everything back to how it was or is that not possible?

Thanks
Can't you just try downloading the obex 0.18 and libopenobex1 1.4 pacakges and install them manually with dpkg?
You might also look at the apt-install and dpkg options to force installation or to ignore dependencies.

Try to avoid removal of the mp_fremantle package.

Better fix your root filesystem first if it is full. A full fileystem might be a cause for failing apt-install..

I have with great surprise tried this on my Sony Ericsson HCB-700, and I could actually browse all my contacts. This is the first phone I have ever owned that I have been able to do that with! (SE P910, SE P990, HTC Diamond, Nokia 5800). So very impressed!

Altough, it is of course not all well... When I browse to my contact, and select the number and press call; nothing happens. The handsfree says "calling <number)" for a while, but nothing happens on the phone, and after a few seconds it just disappears.

Is this a known problem? I'm btw quite sure my handsfree uses IrMC, not PBAP.

Thanks for your great work!

Great idea!
Sent a message to Mohammad and also to the editors of mwkn - lets see...

In the meanwhile, what do you guys think about moving to extras???
Unfortunately I have no idea how to do this. Would be great if someone could bring it to extras and let the average user enjoy PBAP/IrMC

Just want to have some confirmation before I delete these problems from the known issue list in the wiki...

Thanks!
I've installed and tested the latest debs from merakels.

1) I did not see false Maemo 5 update announcement in App Manager. I must say that some time ago - long before this latest "test" - I did remove the mp-fremantle-* package but I re-installed it very soon

2) I can exchange files via bluetooth between N900 and my PC and Mac.

PC Suite connectivity works.

I'm a very happy N900 user now

Now if I could get an updated version that does not send the fax numbers to my car-kit, then I would be in the heaven of N900 users

OK, I do use PC suite to sync with Outlook 2007.

Can I retype the name and telephone numbers in the current contacts or is it better to remake the contacts totally?

How did you manage to re-install mp-fremantle-*?

I tried to re-install mp-fremantle-205-pr with no success...
Tried apt-get install --reinstall mp-fremantle-* but it gives me only -002, -203, -003, -004 and -generic but not what I am looking for: -205 !?
So for now I installed mp-fremantle-generic-pr but I have no idea how to get -205 or if it is really a problem to have the -generic version instead!?

If I remember correctly I simply used apt-get. I did that some time ago, before you started this thread. Perhaps the package was removed from the repository after that... I wonder if there's a way that I can somehow repackage it on my N900 and then send it to you but I'm not very familiar with the deb package system.

I must correct myself. I DID remove mp-fremantle-205-pr.

I just did a check - I guess I should have done it before posting - and I have no mp-fremantlef* debs anymore..

This is what apt-get tells me:
Package mp-fremantle-203-pr is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
E: Package mp-fremantle-203-pr has no installation candidate
