Why is this thread still going? Nokia have made it quite clear that the only way they will be re-entering the smartphone market is by licensing their brand to a third party manufacturer.

I guess because locking it would only invite Foxkia to create a new one.

(And post more 5 years old articles as "news".)

This thread has gone downhill since somewhile (thanks in no small part to Foxkia) hence it is being moved to Off-topic so that it doesn't appear in active topics with lame posts.

Not a smartphone but I think it's not worth open a new topic:

"Withings" (owned by Nokia) announced a smartwatch
http://www.withings.com/eu/en/products/steel-hr

I don't need a smartwatch, but like the design, somehow a classical (quartz) watch.

Brought up in April and in other threads. I do not call this a "return" of Nokia by no stretch of the imagination. A considerable smaller opportunity such as wearables is perhaps the way start forward momentum, but I do not think so.

As a smartwatch, this is a step in the right direction; on the withings page the promised battery runtime is 25 days per charge.
I have previously stated that for me it is important that a watch-like device has at least 6...12 months runtime on single charge... If this watch proves to be elegant/useful/affordable enough, I just might try to bend my requirements a bit.

Oh come on, juiceme. My watch requires charging (also known as "winding up") every day!

Indeed, however you are not tied to a wall socket for an hour each day to do it... in fact you can do it wherever you are and it takes about 10 seconds...
Spot the difference, huh?
