I like "During December". Guess they're saving it for a Christmas present.......time to quit caring for a month. I wish they could stick to their plans....e.g on the maemo page it specifically stated "a few" weeks nearly a month ago...but I don't want to start That debate again. I guess we'll get it when they're ready to give it ....until then, adios...............

Mid November runs from this past weekend to next weekend. December is not very far away from that.
OUCH!! Weren't the two ITs supposed to be "almost" the same hardware?

Me too: gimme a stable release, and I'll be happy to wait.

I think it's only marketing! The OS2008 should be the same for N810 and N800 ... perhaps the flash-image differs a bit. If N810 will be launched this week with final firmware, I don't think that they will change anything for the N800 (that wouldn't make sense).

What if you think about this in marketing standpoint:

Wouldn't you like to show the N810 as a great new device? With new OS, the N810 looks and feels a lot better than N800... If the N800 was released the OS at the same time, lots of this "brand new and great" things and benefits will disappear... and hurt N810 initial sales?

That's just my guess why the N800 OS release is scheduled later than N810 (and its OS release).

Yep. I won't speculate further as to the delay (and have not seen the official reason) but why worry over a week or two?

Delays happen. Nothing new.

While I of course have a different level of involvement here, I'd rather deal with the slight delay here over the several months delays involved with certain unnamed product launches...

I know, I know...but it doesn't make it any easier

However, since I really do have to stop checking this forum every five minutes, knowing it'll be weeks instead of days means I can go back to my life (sort of) for a while....Thanks, tho, TR for keeping us 'in the loop'.

Look at the bright side folks.. you won't have to go through the dreaded "flash the device and reinstall all my painstakingly collected applications and configurations" as early as you feared.. holding off on that for a bit longer is good, isn't it?

Besides, as at least the graphical applications need to be ported for OS2008 you get to use your perfectly good OS2007 versions for a bit longer.. and the delay increases the chance for a couple more of them being ready when the OS upgrade finally arrives!
