I used to work for the company that still makes their printers. I dealt with Dell's marketing, logistics and web channel teams. I was responsible for their planning. Though that was a few years ago, the same team is apparently there.

I have some insight as to their product placement and interaction of products on their customer sales displays.

I am still scarred to this day

Please note that i was intending the post as a joke (hence the note about it).

I pre-ordered the N900 from Dell's website late last week with no problems and I still show my order as "In Production" with an Estimated Delivery date of 12/11/2009.

However, I can no longer find the product page for the N900. A cached search of google comes up with it at the following URL:

http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sourc...nhSQrMwExhfi4Q

But the page now just has the message:
"The product you have selected is not currently available for online purchase in the segment you have selected."

Am I looking in the wrong place, or has Dell stopped taking pre-orders for the N900?

I'm concerned that the ship date has slipped so many times that Dell may just cancel all "In Production" pre-orders as well as stop taking new pre-orders.

Cdd,

That is what I have been saying too. I have worked with them and know their "passive aggressive" tactics in these situations.

Claim they could not stock them and not lose money. Seems to make sense for a company already hurting.

Still, my order says In Production too. Stay golden.......

Since you have pre-ordered your N900 through Dell you must not be all that confident in your appraisal of their strategy.
