I've just found this thread through googling, and I had very similar problems and I am also in Ireland. I had to switch to 3G to get the repos to refresh and some apps wouldn't install on wifi

Changing my Wifi DNS settings to Google's servers (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) fixed it for me.

I have Eircom broadband and their crappy Netopia router. I am pretty sure the root cause is its broken IPv6 support which has caused me problems with linux before.

Hey mate....I got my o2 WAP settings sorted so tomorrow I will try and get the nokia app and nokia software repo's to refresh(for the first time).

I'm glad that someone from Ireland is on here and had a similar problem(not meaning to sound bad or anything). But I was thinking that I may have a faulty device.

So fingers crossed tomorrow that I'll get the repo's updated via WAP. And then maybe you could talk me through changing DNS settings? I also have eircom broadband and the netopia router, so I'm sure that fact that you had similar issues...that the google settings may work?

Thanks again for posting here. I'm on boards.ie as well....four of a kind

The ipv6 problem is with the router, not the phone
Changing your dns settings is quite easy: go to the internet connections in the settings app, select your wifi network, click edit, then hit next until the advanced button appears, click it then go to ip addresses and scroll down to the dns section. uncheck automatic and enter 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. Then save and you should be set.

Fixed!!!!!!!!!!!

First I used my WAP to update the repo's....which worked perfect. so i was able to download pixlepipe, qik etc.

Then I did as CormacB above suggested and changed my DNS settings to Google's and tried to update again via wifi! Bingo! Worked perfectly!

Thanks to everyone in this thread who helped sort this out all the way through. It took a week of trying but eventually got there!
