Next step...Nokia taking note.

I am not hopeful, but since the N900 is actually a platform, not a "canned" hardware application, Nokia may actually support it and us and provide the much needed updates and upgrades.

Basic things like providing Ovi suite support, increasing battery life to something more usable, and fixing numerous bugs that cause hours of wasted time and a lot of frustration, come to mind.

I agree we are waiting for some bug fixes and some major features like video calling and front camera support.
I can also agree that nokia should get our N900 with maemo5 to a state of relaxation, where we are satisfied and the hardware included in this beast actually works.

I disagree about the battery.
The N900 lasts longer then the average iphone / htc.
You can extend that time period by trying the following :
1. Wifi switcher - Disable your wifi when not used.
2. Auto Disconnect...
3. Lower brightness from full to 1 lower.
4. Use ulv kernels.

This way, I manage to get about 3 days with moderate use, including :
1. Angry birds 30 min a day
2. Browser for 10 minutes about 3 times a day
3. Camera about 10 shots a day
4. A bit poking through gallery
5. 2 hours of music to headphones.
6. Overclocked to 900MHz with ULV kernel. (titan)

I'm glad they didn't do anything like this. A web page, even if it's one from the manufacturer, shouldn't have access to that information about the processes running beside the browser. If the survey had been able to to that it would have been a massive security hole.

They could have done this by releasing a survey application, separate from the browser, but might get less responses when people needed to install something for it.

it is weird that this survey is about the N900 but the site to fill it on is very not so optimized for the n900.. That should really be done better the next time.

I completed the survey, took my time to write the response too. It was a enjoyable and well thought out survey. I hope Nokia listens and make some improvement for us N900 users. And i hope Nokia will learn and improve their future development with the Maemo platform.
