Happy to hear you like the app.. There are still stability issues, but they are under active investigation.

I've been using the latest version for the past couple of days, and it seems pretty stable to me except for the known problem of skipping songs too fast when on a slow network. There are some features that are missing though, which would make it perfect:

1. The HW-volume buttons don't change volume when the phone is locked

2. I'm experiencing static or minor pauses when systemsounds are played, like when pressing the buttons in the interface.

3. The headphones-daemon doesn't work with this, so when headphones are unplugged, the music isn't automaticly paused.

4. When silent profile is enabled, I get no sound from headphones.

Anyway... great app!

Thanks a lot for the feedback, I will definitely look into adding the functionality that you listed in your post.. Some of them are already being looked into. I am currently working on a minor fix version that I hope to release still this week (however, no major updates to the functionality).

Thanks aenbacka for this great app. I use it frequently, even in my car.
One feature request:
Is it possible to make Artist Search more easier while listening to that artist?
I mean, when i am shuffling around my playlist I often stumble upon an artist from whom i would like to here more songs.

Now I have to leave the playcue and fill in the Artist Name in the searchfield (sometimes nearly impossible while driving, trust me )
It would be nice if i just hit the coverart of the current song on the playlist screen to launch an artist search?
Or you could maybe add some extra button to carry out that task (would render the gui a littel bit crowded imho)

Another point on my wishlist: When program starts I still have to tip on the searchfield to activate the cursor in that field. It Would be nicer if it already active to accept typing on the keyboard.

Thanks anyway.
greetings

Happy to hear that you like QSpot, thanks a lot for the feedback! It should definitely be possible to launch an artist search by e.g., clicking on the coverart, I will look into adding that functionality. It is a minor change to make the search field active by default, I will add that to the next version (hopefully to be released still this week)..

I hereby want to announe yet another update to QSpot (0.0.5-2).. The version changelog is as follows:

* Minor updates / fixes to the GUI.
* Added timeout to initial playlists loading (30 secs)
* Initial focus now set to the Search input field.
* Possible to move back in views using the left arrow key
* The right arrow key moves to Now Playing while in main (playlist) view

Hope you will like the update!

Thought I would give a short overview of what's up with QSpot, and the current development plans.. In the next update I hope to include support for selection of preferred bitrate, and possible some small GUI updates. Album and Artist views are also in the planning stage..

Having giving the support for offline mode some more thought, I think that QSpot will continue to support online mode only. This is due to the requirement of properly securing the offline audio data. The client will need to work while in offline mode (bypassing authentication with the Spotify backend). However, as premium subscription is a requirement for offline playlists, the client would also need to go online and check whether the user still has a premium account, and if that is not the case, prevent access to the offline data. The offline data would also need to be secured by proper encryption. As QSpot will remain open-source, it would also potentially be possible to get around the checks. I just wanted to let you know my view on this issue.

Anyway, any feedback is welcome as always!

Hi, thanks for the app aenbacka, it's much appreciated!

Any chance that in the next update you could implement playing an entire album in the correct order?

Also, it'd be great if from the search results, you could either
a) play a single track by clicking on the track name
b) view a list of the artist's albums by clicking on the artist name
c) view the contents of the album by clicking on the album name

One more thing: would it be difficult to implement an "add to queue" button?
