VertSMS is still in Extras-devel, so I'd rather not install it...
Anyway, do you happen to have an answer to my question: Is using the hw keyboard currently the only way to add a new word?

I'm first of all going to thank you for this great app and then ask some questions. Now, I do find this app working quite well, although I dislike the fact that Finnish is not supported and you can't just unselect a language. If one could at least unselect language (as in my case, Finnish is not supported and other languages are pointless in my case), I could at least type one character at a time, just like real T9, and press the button e.g. from 1 thrice to get C (button 1 is A when pressed once, B when pressed twice and C when pressed thrice. Four times would print Ä/Å, can't remember which one).

And secondly, could there be any possible way to implement selected characters nick/name on the recipient field? And add more than one to it.

That's all, keep up the good work.

Oh, a bit of a bump but I forgot to mention this earlier on. If I may I'd suggest, that there'd be support for uppercase letters also, since I can only type in lowercase now. It'd be great to see this remind more or less the normal, built-in Conversations app but that's not so important, would be nice though.

I'd also like to know how to provide the Finnish-words to the dictionary. There's Sanakirja.org app from Extras, which, as far as I know, does have Finnish dictonary on it along with others. Maybe it could be used for other languages as well? If so then I do recommend checking it out, since it would provide quite a lot of support to languages that are not supported yet.

(I can provide you also Finnish localization, if you just provide me with instructions on finding the necessary files to build the .PO and .MO.)

I made 4 dictionaries, Slovenian, Serbian, Croatian and unified Serbian & Croatian. For Serbian and Croatian I used Firefox dictionaries, for Slovenian the source was this file. If there are some better sources for these 3 (or 2) languages, let me know.

Don't blame me for missing or misspelled words. I just used existing sources. Also some mistakes during "processing" these dictionaries are not excluded.

Special characters "č,ć,đ,š,ž" are converted to "c,d,dj,s,z". For example the word "čaj" is now "caj".

Dictionaries should be placed in /home/opt/fastsms/data/. Before that they should be extracted from .zip files.

Here are links for downloading:

- Croatian;
- Serbian;
- Serbian & Croatian;
- Slovenian.
