N900 does have a full Qwerty slide out keyboard. This adds in weight and size. One could have said the same about Nokia Communicator, and these certainly had their place in the market. We call the form factor koelkast ('fridge') here, btw.
I'd say the USB port fiasco is more indicative of this, but that was found out after release.
Again, thats speaking in absolutes. This one was relatively more targeted at the masses, and that was according to plan.
Remember corporations often use Linux and open source as R&D playground.

We are trying to say that maybeperhapsyes there are people who do not use their device for navigation. NEVER EVER. Maybe they have dedicated tomtom or other navigator mounted to their car and they do NOT CARE because their needs are unique. Now please shut up and stop behaving like teenagers with too little brain. Or are you one?

AND btw google maps is piece of crap to me. WHY? I will not buy data connection to my mobile phone and never will. Just because! And what do I do with google maps without data connection? Pretty much nothing. And yes n900 needs also data connection for itīs crippled Nokia maps application and I do not use it.

When I read blog posts at http://jaaksi.blogspot.com/ I think that Ari Jaaksi was very proud of the things he/ his team did at Nokia and he identified himself a lot with the company over all those years.
So, for me it's not clear why he left. Even more when there's no statement from him putting it into a better light.
I hope those decisions are well studied and I just don't see behind it.

I know you aren't the marketing department. But the N900 was never marketed as only for people who wanted to risk way over $500 on a hope that their cell phone might work decently.
