I'm tolerant of a LOT of things.

Spam is NOT one of them. Especially robospam.

thanks texrat and reggie
You're probably right--I was under the impression it was a Smith quote--it certainly seems like something he would say... but I can't seem to find anything about him saying it, now that I'm looking around. Good catch! Thanks for pointing that out!

Is there any way we can turn the spam into some form of amusement? :P

even without a device these questions are easy, I didn't say ask for the user agent of the browser nor the bt mac address (though I admit I thought about it)

a google image search should be enough

...Or, we could watch an argument over the term "football" itself. Both are equally banal entertainment.

Posting this here as well from an email that was sent to me directly:

Level 1 can be guessed once in 4 attempts
I have increased this to 6 images. Also, note that the images are not fixed and they randomize from an image pool of about 30.

Level 2 is trivial (regex extracts '' enclosed strings easily).
I've changed this to Captcha.

Level 3 is always Nokia, and therefore trivial.
It can be trivial if you are a maemo fan. Spambots just compile a list of forums and their automated software would do its thing. The key here is to change the question frequently -- say every month.

Thanks.
----

There are several spammers still getting in. Note that we can't block those who manually register (as human), but we do check their current IPs from a global database of recent spammers.

Ok, one more change. Members that are not Active Users (less than 5 posts) will go through Captcha when posting a new thread or replying to an existing thread. They will not have the Quick Reply option (that appears at the bottom of the thread) as well.
