I like the N810, I've using one for ages.. but it's a bit of a dead fish.. The N900 is the next evolutionary step.

I wouldn't buy an N810 now because a) there's no more Nokia development and b) it's not a phone.. but it doesn't stop it being a great device!

The n900 is muuuch faster though.. the email client is fantastic (speed wise) compared to the n810.. and the browser is pretty fab too!

it really depends on what you're after. the N8XX devices weren't that everyday user friendly, but they held real hack-appeal. the N900 is definetly more main stream but it still holds this attraction. in a phone format I'm not sure there is much similar.

android might be worth a play but although the platform is open (in some ways more so than maemo) the devices aren't.

sorry this reply took longer, I've been out and now I'm replying on my device. niiiiiice

sorry everyone

Well I'm off to Dubai on the 15th, so if I don't get my phone before then I have to cancel the UK order.
At least then I can try in Dubai Mall.

Wouldn't recommend it.

No warranty in UK...

Also (I lived in Dubai) if you buy a phone in Dubai and it stops working in the first 28 days (even if you try it once you've paid for it & you're still in the same shop!) you don't get replacement, they'll send off for repair!

The way things are out there at the moment, you might get it at a knockdown price!!!

Which might just be fairly high up, if they've still got that ******** £1k hold on my account.

Keep posting over in the 'shop.nokia.co.uk cancelled my order' thread, too.

Is that high enough for you?
