What do you like most about Winamp for Android?

If you can believe it, I'm still using the stock media player for the N810. There are more than a few usability concerns, and I'm cut-off from what's considered to be a quality implementation. I bet I'll gush over the stock Android player when I finally use it.

I don't know how safe this is, but here are some instructions on how to unlock the Tab (some version of it anyway):

I'd love to be able to get a GSM sim when abroad and remain connected.

Anyone have experience unlocking their Tab?

Hard to really pin it down except to say that the playlist is just far more easier to maintain and the player LOOKS like you expect a player to look. It wasn't as sparse and plain and featureless as the Android music player.

just to go a tad bit off topic...the Viewsonic gTablet looks pretty decent. Any thoughts on that?

Danaramos: The g-tablet doesn't seem to be recalled on Amazon. Is the tech reputation of Staples and Sears so high that when they stop carrying something the rest of the world follows?

im seriously considering buying a galaxy tab (never owned android before)
been reading reviews everywhere for a week or so and ive got a few things im confused about,

the main thing i do with phones is watching video and web browsing in bed, as long as it does those 2 things well, im probs gonna be very happy, and having flash 10.1 and a bigger screen than my n900 are whats got me interested

i bought my wife an ipad recently and as shes brain dead when it comes to tech, im the one dealing with itunes, and filling the device with vids and stuff.
but ive noticed ipad apps need to be the HD versions or the x2 zoom makes them blurry, is this the same for android apps?
can i install anything from android app store or is the SGT apps in short supply?
can i root/hack/jailbreak the SGT and reject and future updates that would possibly lock me out of the os?

if i could get some info on those it would be great

Every app I installed looks good, no blur. You can install anything from the Android Market (at least this is my experience so far). I have not rooted, though: the tablet is wife's and I don't want to risk to brick it.

I can't answer these with 100% certainty, but I'm pretty sure that you've little to worry about.

- Zooming on the 7" screen won't be like zooming on the iPad. Even with the same resolution, the increased pixel-density of the Tab screen will yield less blurriness. In other words, things are sharper on a smaller screen.

- You have full access to the market in the Tab. Apps that use the NDK (ie. games) tend to be more device specific, but the Tab has very good support.

- You can root the Tab very, very easily. Allowing you to do all sorts of interesting things. I don't know of too many custom ROMs at the moment, but it's one of those devices that will be supported by the community due to its popularity. I wouldn't at all be surprised if we saw a MeeGo port to the Tab in the future.

One thing to note: Flash on the Tab works well, but don't expect the performance of a PC. That said, some videos may not be as smooth (someone please help with their experiences).

On a somewhat related note: I hear that Adobe is doing gpu optimizations of the flash player on netbooks that offload most of the work onto the GPU (cpu utilization is near zero on these tasks). I expect that this type of optimization will make it to ARM devices as well, though it will take time.

Anyway, anyone with an actual Tab care to weigh in and help this nice fellow out?

Speaking of feedback, I wonder where Etuoyo is.. He got a Tab and then disappeared!

Here's hoping he drops back in to let us know how he's getting on.
