I am/was an Adobe Flash/Flex dev. And Android hasn't had Adobe Flash plugin since 4.0 and 4.4 was just released. I'm not a 100% fan of HTML5, it's just not there as far as I need.

But anyway, no Flash now isn't as much of a problem as it once was...

Apple can show the videos, but no others. Flash or apple is still important and needed.

Huh? Your sentence makes no sense. Especially since Apple (mobile devices and phones) have never had Adobe Flash.

iOS devices and most other devices use the HTML5 variant for Youtube and Vimeo.

No riddles. So the reason is that apple has a brand and webdev adjust the code/video to apple. IPads iphones you know.

But the rest of the devices suffer badly when it comes to browser support .

Flash isn't just videos, which was what originated this tangent (speedtest.com or something or other). Apple's iOS could never play (or even better: run) ActionScript applications.

It may be true that many websites still require flash these days (YouTube however not being one of them).
But Adobe pulled the plug on mobile Flash. So even if Jolla wanted to have Flash on Sailfish, Adobe would just say, nope, no more Flash on mobile.

You cannot buy Android phones with builtin Flash either, these days.
But you may be lucky digging up an old Flash apk for Android on some website.

I think no one is saying flash is the way to go for Jolla or anyone. But to ignore as a non issue is far from right either.

I have looked at the Jolla device for a while now, and just can't think of uglier hardware in the industry. Is it plastic? The other half just makes it abominable.
