Speculation on Finnish tech magazine 3T: Jolla Handset will have very few buttons and will have "motion sensor based gestures": http://www.digitoday.fi/vimpaimet/20...a/201239742/66 (in Finnish).

Speculation is based on Hurmola's interview for the 3T Magazine.

gestures can be fun. But is it effective. Not at the moment. Using it on my android at the moment. especially if you doing a motion that you dident intend to and somthing starts up

They have to come up with a brand new gestures style to get it effective.

Speak input and motions still have to many issues that can break the use cases. press at an icon/button is superior for most tasks at the moment.

I hope its fake.

Because if you have grep, you can run important things like

That's a good one. I'd prefer it to use coreutils instead of busybox (I don't like the later). Or at least that busybox could be replaced with coreutils without some convoluted hacks like in Harmattan.

While we all speculate. I want arguments reality features in jolla. That is the future of commercials and operators would love it. Not standard logo and boring applications. Forget about motion navigation.

Swipe by tilting phone left/right. Like n9
Tilt phone down to close up like n9
Scroll in any view by sliding your finger up or down on the side of the phone
Press hard on any side of the phone to select somthing.
Start cam by dubbletter tap on the back side of the phone. Double tap again to take an image.
Nvigate on the screen by moving finger on the back side of the phone, press harder to select somthing. That gives you superior navigation with one hand without buttons especially at the top of the screen.
This kind of gestures? Jolla should hire me as speculate designer.

not more than pressing on the screen today. that motion is better since you can hold the phone better. A dedicated button is the best. but would be cool with a device with 0 buttons

just think how fast you whould be able to take a photo with two double taps even while talking in the phone
