Speaking of launchers: Here's the latest ADW launcher, ADW Ex:

Not only does it have TONS of customization features, it also looks to be accelerated.

I *love* the 3D transitions between homescreen pages. This could be quite stunning on the Tab.

Okay fixed my headset issue. You are all going to have to forgive me for how silly I was. I tried listening to music with the bundled headset And I still could not come out of speaker mode. So I tried using my normal headphones to listen to music and it worked fine. So I decided the problem had to be with the bundled Samsung headphones. However I decided to give it one last try and pushed them in as far as they could possibly go without either me, the headset or the Tab breaking and this time it worked. So there it is going-for anyone having problems with the headset what is required is for you to push it in more than you would need to with other headphones.

Have to say the quality of the audio coming from the headset is mighty mighty impressive. Not sure if the credit goes to the Tab, the Samsung headphones or both but there is certainly no need to purchase expensive headphones to listen to music on the Tab. You may of course need Bluetooth headset to make and receive calls without plugging in wires.

The Tab has incredible sound performance:

This is one of the reasons it pays to consider things other than simply performance alone when choosing a device. The Tab is well built, with very high quality components while maintaining excellent performance and great battery life.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: although there are many competitor tablets coming out featuring Tegra 2 processors, I have my doubts that they will be as wonderfully well-rounded as the Tab on the hardware front. I suspect that the Tab will be able to hold its own for some time to come.

The software is another story... Here's hoping that Samsung (or the community) pushes out Honeycomb in short order to keep the Tab competitive.

me too,
on the phone samsung and pcworld were great,
but at the store pcworld said i had to flash it and if i did and it didnt fix the problem, they would book it in and flash it themselves, (even though he didnt know how to do it!)
and at cost to me because i didnt take their protection plan out!
so best to avoid pcworld

It looks like the tablet-ized apps are slowly coming. Here's a sneak peak at Opera for tablets:

Verdict? It looks very much like the 'phone' opera on the Tab! Perhaps the correct user-agent is set for non-mobile sites.

But you've got to love that ultra-smooth scrolling.

I know I would have received the same response had I had my tab at this years new year party! For some reason, people really like those BBs, but I haven't really seem a compelling reason to chose one over any other device. They actually look kinda 5#!77y...
Well, it irked me somewhat that he felt compelled to express what a piece of junk his Blackberry was, when in truth I'm aware that it has several advantages that might not appeal to him but would have certainly appealed to a certain other kind of customer. It was his total abject hate of the Blackberry that sort of irked me. I mean, I'm quite happy to show off and explain things to him, sure, but I also recognize that everything has their advantage. My old flip-phone didn't run a fancy OS, was completely incapable of running apps, and all it pretty much did was voice calls--but man, I could go for nearly over a week without charging it even with usage. Anyway, it was a far more positive experience than a negative one--it was kinda funny despite the way he grinded his teeth every time he looked at his Blackberry. heh Blackberry might look like crap but they have excellent business class support and tight encryption. Mind you, I do too, but then I implement that security myself via SSH and stuff.

I think he was mainly impressed with the Droid, rather than the tablet.. he really liked the Google Navigation software more than anything and loved how this small Android phone could perform spectacularly AND run all these incredibly magical apps like the Instant Heart Rate Monitor, Camera Fun, Camera360, Angry Birds and so on. For him, I think the SMALLNESS of such a fully functional device is what he liked, ironically, as opposed to the tablet.

I haven't run into this problem--but then I tried LauncherPro (which I love on my Droid) and hated it on my Tab. I eventually uninstalled it and remained with the Samsung Sense UI desktop that it came with and haven't experienced any kind of rotation problem at all. I suspect, as you've already probably figured out too, that it's a LauncherPro bug rather than a Tab hardware bug.

I called Samsung and told them the issue. They said since I bought the device within the last 28 days I could take it back to where I bought it from. Even said if the shop refused to give me a new one I could call them back from the shop and they would.speak to them for me. Have to say I was totally impressed with this. On top of that the customer services number was a local number so was free, unlike almost all other companies that make you pay to call them when there is an issue which is their fault.

Got to the store (Currys) and they were trying to force me to flash the device to see if that fixed the issue but I refused point blank.
Man, I wish Nokia had even HALF as good a customer support reputation as Samsung has managed to make for itself. It's refreshing to hear about positive customer support stories. I've had similarly positive experiences with Motorola, Verizon and Amazon during my customer support experiences with my Motorola Droid in the past year.

Hey can someone help me. There was a brown coloured social media widget on my Tab but cannot seem to find it anymore. Think was a Samsung widget. Does anyone know what it was called and where I can find it if I have somehow manaed to uninstall it?

Hm... mine didn't come with anything like that. The only Samsung UI-based widgets I seem to have (haven't uninstalled any) are their AccuWeather Clock, Analog Clock, Calendar, Calendar Clock, Daily Briefing, Picture Frame and Program Monitor. Are you sure it wasn't just a shortcut or a folder?
