Looks very nice, though some may find it on the chunky side looking at the pics.

Do i see an IR sensor on the top?

Yeah, what is this thing? And wouldn't it be cooler if it was an IR transceiver.

Tranceiver, hmm? Cool, but... We'd know about it by now! :B

Why does Americans sell liquid fuel on a gas station? Do most gas stations over there also sell hydrogen gas for gas powered engines? Now, that would make sense.

It's just convenient to top off your vehicle's tank after you inflate its tires. (Or tyres, if you must.)

Does anyone know if the accelerometer in the N900 is a three-axis accelerometer or a single-axis one?

I'm a seismologist and actually want a three-axis accelerometer so the N900 can have an app like seismac - I've spent many years lugging a seismograph around to do demonstrations to schools and now I could do it with an iPhone.

It reports in three dimensions. I don't know if a part number's been found in the kernel which'd give any more info.

If it reports in three dimensions I guess it is a true 3-axis unit. I'd guess these are standard now anyway.

Now i just need to re-learn programming - is a FORTRAN compiler available for the tablets?

Last time I checked the kernel driver, the part was an LIS302DL from STMicroelectronics
