I was there couple weeks ago.
I saw Windows 7 everywhere. They've probably installed a pirated version of it which doesn't send out data to MS because of the Great Firewall of China.

It filters and sends it back to their mother country, leading to the arrest of terrorists that Baidu search for the term "free tibet".

What are you saying again? You seem not to understand the business of selling technology. It has nothing to do with open or closed software. Timing always plays a role, as did when MS became the dominant desktop force. If Nokia had gone with Android in 2008 or 2009, Nokia would dominate. But Nokia stayed in denial until 2011, when the Android OEM landscape already crystalized. The Windows Phone jump was an attempt to get that pole position in a nascent ecosystem, which they could have gotten if they hadn't stuck with Symbian for so long.

Now, if you are right, Maemo should have blossomed. It never did. if you are right, Jolla will boom, lets see if that happens. Because of timing, Jolla CAN NOT boom as they have nothing more to offer than mooch off Android apps and come up with a variant of iOS UI.

Nokia's slogan shouldn't be the pedo-palmgrabbing image with the slogan, "Connecting People"... It should be one hand open pleadingly with another hand giving the middle finger and the more apt slogan, "Potential Unrealized." --DR

I always believed Dan the Ram was from The Simpsons.

Didn't know he was from Prague.
