Will look into 3G/4G options. With my own option, Intel platform isn't great for WWAN support in general. Plus all the software cost. Will discuss and give feedback later.

IMHO if we spend cost to get WWAN on this Intel device, why not spending a little bit more to build a Qualcomm SoC version? i.e The new PCBA. Modem is built in into SoC and can improve specs either.

Also as mentioned above, with LTE builtin we need too many SKUs, at lease two, for NA and EU. Moreover certification and RF testing will be a lot more complicated, which also costs......

I am excited to see this. Yes I am in North America and I would be happy with a wifi version.

I agree with your original stated intention of doing this release because the Jolla tab hardware is near identical and still available. I suspect people who are requesting hardware changes have skipped over or ignored that part.

All the LTE wish list stuff seems appropriate to scope for a different project. That bucket of worms will probably delay things significantly. You made it very clear this was not a wish-list release from the start, which is very sensible for a first-time release.

Some quick opinion needed: As we are preparing the next step, want to ask for storage capacity: The plan is to have a standard 64GB, an entry-level 16GB (instead of 32GB, to make it even cheaper for budget users) and a premium 128GB. (Could be in a different colour). What is the opinion?

Gr8 Chen!

i also think

16GB Starter
64GB Standard
128GB Premium

would be the best!

Colour:
Full Black
Full White

But not mix them, like Jolla did...

Is the memory expandable? If yes, 16GB as cheap is fine.
If not minimum is 32GB imo. And if not, premium should be 256GB.
64GB as middle choice is perfectly fine either way.

IMHO I am not sure if the 16MB version really needed. Most problems with e.g. the Jolla1 was the 16MB memory if people put too much stuff in it than using an SD. Cannot remember the price difference 16-64 anymore.

Colors? Shiny red again for the premium? Or better full white like explit said.

Update: What colors are technically possible?

Yes. And there is a free exFAT driver in warehouse if you want to use exFAT SD card

Red will be possible. I'm thinking of not creating to many SKUs.

Perhaps 16GB White (Or black/grey, same as 64GB)
64GB Black/Grey
128GB Red

Something like that?
