Here's what'll you see in the next release:

- Send via Mail/Bluetooth menu items
- Localisation
- Hildonized menus
- Maemo hardware events support (as described here: http://maemo.org/development/documen...ardware-states)

Next one will sport:

- Improved toolbar. I plan to group similar tools in a single button on the toolbar.
Tapping on the button will show a vertical list of items to choose from.
For example the First/Prev/Next/Last page buttons will be collected in one button
and so on...
- I might collect several menu items in a preference panel

We'll see how fast I can go with it.

Great! One suggestion to bring upstream is pasting clipboard text/bitmap/vector drawings from other apps. Another is having text boxes with word-wrapping. These would turn xournal into a general purpose pdf creator - a useful thing.

Well, pasting text already works, via the input methods, or Ctrl+V from a keyboard (the latter on other platforms as well, I assume).
Bitmaps are a pain to jam into an XML vector format. Vector drawings would be nice (and feasible), though...

One more thing I would like to get feedback about.

If you've noticed, all the Maemo applications have regular menus. With that I mean that they do not have any small icon next to them and no mnemonic.
I would like, and I think I will, get rid of the small icon, but what about the mnemonics ?

They do not look hildonized to me, but are indeed very useful (provided you've got a built-in or bluetooth keyboard).

I should post a poll, but this would slow down development, so.. just to get an idea, would you guys leave the mnemonics or not ?

I quite like the icons, makes things look polished. Don't know what you mean by the "mnemonics" though. I thought you meant shortcuts but just checked the menus and there are none.

PS: Many thanks for this port and your effort!

The "mnemonics" are the underscored letters of the menus.
You can simply hit that letter to select the specific menu entry.

For example the menu entry (in the main menu) "Xournal" has an underscored "X".
If you hit the 'X' key, the Xournal menu will open.
And so on...

Well here's something I just realised: on the N810 there are no mnemonics unless you have the kb slid down. They are not visible otherwise, even if the oskb is visible (which sort of makes sense). As to your question, I would keep them.

You can turn on or off mnemonics via a gconf setting.

After muki showed a nice feature that I didn't notice, I think
I will keep either mnemonics and accelerators.

Very cool indeed.

As for the images, probably I'll keep them too..
