heh, how about swapping to the osso battery monitor at the time?

oh and from what i have observed, not even the icon is updated on adv-power while the tablet is in standby/sleep/idle.

i have seen the icon jump from half full to warning red when poking the screen awake...

It shows in "app manager", and it can be selected in "control panel" but it doesn't show in the status bar.
One more time: Don't forget to reboot after updating.

Some part of data ('autoupdating' items) are updated asynchronously via dbus signals. And switching all the items won't stop monitoring (in stable version), I've got some patch in experimental tree, but it can never be released.

Well, icon is not updating only when device is switched off
That charge jumps are system-related, so behavior in inactive state depends on the system behavior (in fact, signals emitting).

Yeah I did reboot... about 6 different times. After an update with themes installed, after a fresh install, after a reinstall with no themes and then an update, then finally after leaving just the previous version installed... The status bar icon would only show with version 0.3.2.

In fact, one of the times I installed 0.3.3 the screen blinked during install and went from normal to full screen then back. After app manager was done I found that the home screen crashed and had reset my applets and panels.

I got unable to install

python2.5-gnome
python2.5-hildondesktop
hildon-desktop-python-loader

On my Nokia N810 - latest firmware. I don't know where I can go next.
Edit:
Read page 17, it has enlightened me.
----------

I go into Control panel -> Personalisation -> Panels -> Status bar > Advanced Power > Check box > OK.

And it doesn't show up in the status bar. I have the "Plankton" theme installed if that helps. I also tried the default them (Echo), with no luck.

Thanks.

Reboot?

Ok. I'm gonna release an early 0.3.4 with reboot confirmation and a couple of fixes. Just to be sure...

Hi, thanks for your reply. I rebooted, and there was no luck with it showing up in the status bar.

The same thing happened with me with YoDude, but I haven't tried the previous version.

Hmmm... Weird... I wonder, what could go wrong.
Perhaps, I'm gonna make a debug one version... Or there is one more variant...
Copy /usr/lib/hildon-desktop/advanced-power.py anywhere yoy like and edit that copy: remove # in the end of the file:
Code:
1095: p = advanced_power()
1098: p.destroy()
Then save it and run in xterm
Code:
run-standalone.sh python /path/to/modified/advanced-power.py
And post here or in PM the output...

I know how to navigate to that folder, but how do you copy the specific file to my internal memory card. What is the path to the root of the internal memory card? In the code tags you used, is that what I should replace those lines with?

Rebootworked well for update. This is a great little upgrade to the defualt! Thanks!

As a note, all your custom settings return to default on update. Not a big deal, but you do seem to put out a lot of updates rather quickly
