is your firewall blocking port 1978? or check port forwarding in your router. it could also be your carrier blocking certain ports

If my firewall blocking port to 1978, why am i able to access it with wi-fi then?? It's just with Tmobile 3G, i can't access the server. Anyone got it working?

Also in the edit media tab....there is a Youtube url option to add movies to your collection. But when i put the address in..it says not able to fetch?? Why is that?? On on the NEW ITEM tab, it also has a url and when i try to fetch it, it gives me "internal error" message.

Have you browsed to the wiki page?

http://wiki.maemo.org/Knots2

Lots of useful information there for setup of client & server for Linux, Windows, OS X, as well as screenshots, etc.

Hope that helps.

who ever it was having issue with port and if you are running linux then trust me your linux firewall (firestarter) or iptables is blocking the port. i had this issue and worked with ukki to figure it out. turns out when i setup my server...i turned off firestarter for my firewall because i hate playing with iptables. anyway to make a long story short, i turned firestarter back on and added the port which in turn added it to the iptables and now knots works fines outside of my lan. i think i could have swarn i told ukki to post this to the wiki.

I don't think it has to do with port. i really don't know what's going on...when i stream off my pc using wi-fi...it shows no lag AT ALL and i am wondering does this damm thing use internet to stream OR WHAT? It's kind of surprising because i try to surf on my pc and try to use bandwidth to see if there is any effect on my stream on N900..perhaps slow it down...but absolutely NOTHING effect or slow it down?? What's going on here?
