today i was at a concert and and made some pics - and now i have proof that its the back cover thats responsible for this "white shadow" on pictures taken with flash (made pictures with and without the back cover)

i'm too tired now to upload them, i'll do that tomorrow.

i really have to disagree coming from the n95! one thing that clearly is better is the sharpness on the n900/focus

Has anyone contacted Nokia about this issue? I know there was some talk from one member about collecting production dates and stuff because he "knew" someone or something? Seems like a little action would be more productive than constant complaining and discussion of what seems to pretty clearly be a result of **** case design.

We haven't made a complaint because it's easier to draw a black line than wait for a new back cover: http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...&postcount=101

Cleaning the lens works wonders too.

well, i'll try the line-trick. i just drew a black line on the chrome-part above the flash. lets see if it helps.

here a picture with flash and the back cover on:

and this picture is with flash, but without the back cover:

i'm afraid the pics arent showing the same scene (as i remembered too late that this grey shadow comes from the backcover), but you can still see the difference.

I took this picture in a situation where kinda no light existed at all, just this small led chain was near the flower but that's it:

No visible JPG noise or anything else, ISO 100 helps

tried the black pen trick, it didnt completely help. it reduces the noise, but doesnt remove it completely.
