The detail info ( 'i' button )provides the channel name.

I wont promise this, but Ill see if it can be done.
during my development I had tried enabling vertical and horizontal scrolling but it was very difficult to scroll and operate in my opinion and there was considerable lag. The option you say will load the n900 quite a bit and it would collect less points for usability, ive tried my best to keep the app as fast as possible.
However, i'll keep the request in mind, and if I find a way to change the layout for the better I will , but you should know that means its a redesign of the complete GUI, lot of effort , I could put that in for another exciting app

Yeah, I guess. I pretty much watch five different channels only so a fixed-height list would do the trick for me.. But it would be the best to do a variable height list, I guess

Thanks for a great app.

Assuming you have a TV-card in your computer you should be able to use Orb to watch live TV. I have never tried it though.

+1 (to "showing which channel"). Could do it with a smaller font below the show's title or in the time info part of the row.

Looking better and better by the way, liking the way this app is going. The "favourites" feature for channels works much better since the most recent update btw.

There's still a bit of UI ugliness (well, could be better-ness) about some things, I'm making notes as I notice things/think of ways to make it better (without just creating a huge list of new features that "would be nice").

Weekly/daily series would be great to have repeating reminders in the calendar for btw, but thats all Im going to list for "new feature" ideas.
  • IMO, there are too many buttons on the app menu. 10? Really? Who needs to use "Region" more than once ever? It should go in the Settings dialog, which it should prompt you for at first ever run (does it? I forgot). I also think "Clear Cache" will be used rarely enough (once the app is stable) to move into a subview/dialog, or cached stuff should be cleared automatically (with a setting for how long to keep it, maybe.. if desired enough).
  • All the "daily mode"/"search mode"/"current mode" strike me as things that should be more easily accessible in the main screen without opening up the menu, particularly "search"; but I dont use this enough to feel strongly about it.
  • Some of the screens have the "return to main screen" back arrow as an arrow on the screen. eg "i" program info (which I havent seen working yet). Surely for the N900, in a hildon style, that "return" arrow should be in the top right where the 'X' normally is.
  • Can it please remember what channel selection and mode it was using (including if it was on "favourites") when you start it up next time. Including, if it was in "current" mode, an update to show the current time's shows not start off at the day's 1st listing info like it does now.
  • The red text that says there's no data, (temporary text Im sure) should perhaps be centered in the display with a button below it to click to clear the cache/reload (although reload is already there with "Go" to its right, new users might not think to look there tho).
  • You could remove "PICK" text for the buttons "Pick date" and "pick channels". If there are buttons with just "channels" and the current date on them, it should be obvious (not just to me I hope!) what pressing them will do.

Some part of me thinks even having the "Go" button is extraneous; if I select a date/time/channels, I probably want to see the data so it should just load it. Reasons against this? (apart from accessing data without an explicit request). Then could just have a "reload" button (even placed in the menu, maybe, if its less needed, or an online/offline status-bar like indicator).

In short no, not yet. My post #1 is always updated with latest info, so you neednt read the whole thread for features/support.

les_garten also from Florida( I think, from his location) is trying to setup xmltv files for the US.
He has managed to do it for his postcode I think by scraping msn.
Maybe you can work together with him to setup xmltv files, then I can integrate region USA as well.

I couldnt find any free sites that provide xmltv files in the US.

Hi, very nice program and fast progress. Would it be possible for Favorites to include stations from different regions? Croatian stations (HTV) are often viewed in Slovenia.
