A minor update version (0.0.5-4) is now available from extras-devel and the garage page. It fixes an invalid image reference and correctly shows version info in the About dialog. Also, I have (a few days ago) uploaded the latest version of the libopenspotify lib to the project garage page.

Thank you very much for the feedback, glad to hear that you like QSpot!

It is my intention that in the next version I will implement an Album view (followed by an Artist view). The Album view will present the tracks of a particular album, in the correct order..

I had planned to allow to view an artist's album (and the contents of a particular album) by long pressing on an track item in the search results, would this be an acceptable solution?

Also I have had in mind an "add to playqueue" function which would add a particular track to the current queue. Such a function is possible to implement, and it is on my todo list..

Any chance that in the next update you could implement playing an entire album in the correct order?

Also, it'd be great if from the search results, you could either
a) play a single track by clicking on the track name
b) view a list of the artist's albums by clicking on the artist name
c) view the contents of the album by clicking on the album name

One more thing: would it be difficult to implement an "add to queue" button?

Sounds plausible!

Is there something wrong with my N900 or what...just updated QSpot to the latest version and still I get max 2 songs played after a random freeze?

I've been having these problems with QSpot from the very beginning I started using it. It doesn't seem to matter if I'm on 2G/3G or WLAN. The record is three songs played until QSpot crashes.

I don't think that there is anything wrong with your device, the problem is on QSpot side, and it is a known issue with the used libopenspotify library. There is some sync issues within the current library implementation, which can result in random crashes, especially during track changes. I can however tell that I am currently looking into the problems, and I hope to get them fixed. It seems that the speed of the used internet connection does impact on the frequency of failure though. Is it more common that the application crashes, or that e.g., the next track just does not start to play? And are you using e.g, custom kernel etc? Thank you for the feedback!

Spotify just rolled out a "playlist folder" function. Playlists located inside folders are visible in QSpot, but it'd be nice if they would actually appear under their respective folders and not in a single long list; that way the point of the folder function is lost. Hopefully the folder view can be implemented in the next release!

I also myself noticed that such a playlist folder function has been added when I started the PC client. It will require substantial changes to the underlying library to add such functionality, but I will investigate if it somehow can be added at some point..

No custom kernel for here, just stock 1.2 firmware. But I've noticed that the freezing usually happens right at the end of a song or in the beginning of a song.

I've had a few crashes right in the middle of songs but those are quite rare...

I get those freeze/crashes occassionally too.

I've noticed since the introduction of folders that playlist retrieval times out: most times I don't even get past 'A'.

I have given the freeze / crash problems high priority on the todo list, so hopefully it can be fixed soon.. Timeout is now defined to 30 secs, and its is possible that it takes significantly longer at certain occasions (I myself noted timeout problems yesterday as well). It might be required to take a look at the playlist implementation in the openspotify lib too. Anyway I am very grateful for all the provided feedback, thanks a lot!
