New Version submitted to Repository: 0.8.4-1

The two most important changes with this release:
  • Widget can now show Contact name
  • Integration with VICaR. VICaR allows you to use skypeOut to place international calls from your MyContacts application. It also allows you to user international calling cards to place calls.

Please see Change Log page for more details.

i just installed this app (about half an hour prior to the last update reported in this thread.)
it shows version 0.8.7.3-1
but i cannot resize applet window. double click speed button is still visible.
I can olnly add users wich have avatars. I dont have many contacts with avatars - when will it be possible to add contacts w/o avatars?
i uninstalled the program.
wnt to the cli and did: apt-get update
apt-get install mycontacts
but its the same version (0.8.7.3-1)

Officially It can take up to 1 hour for the file to become available after I upload it.

You can check here what release is available.

It is not yet possible to add contacts w/o avatars. On this new version you can have the contact name show on the widget so it is a little better for adding contacts w/o avatars. Just add one of the "standard avatars" using the stock contacts application to make them available on MyContacts. I know it is not ideal but it is not too difficult either.

Fcrochik

Thanks for your work.

I am a litle confused about your version numbering.

In your site i see:

07/12 - 0.8.6.4-1
07/06 - 0.8.6.3-1
07/06 - 0.8.7.2-1
06/28 - 0.8.6-1

but in:

http://repository.maemo.org/extras-d.../m/mycontacts/

mycontacts_0.0.6-1_armel.deb 07.06.2010 20:48
mycontacts_0.8.4-1_armel.deb 12.07.2010 13:14
mycontacts_0.8.5-1_armel.deb 25.06.2010 21:16
mycontacts_0.8.6-1_armel.deb 29.06.2010 02:04
mycontacts_0.8.7.2-1_armel.deb 06.07.2010 15:08
mycontacts_0.8.7.3-1_armel.deb 06.07.2010 21:56

I installed mycontacts_0.8.4-1_armel.deb 12.07.2010 13:14, which i think is the latest release but then appmanager tries to update it to 0.8.7.3-1.

My bad.... I created the package as 8.4.1 but I meant 8.7.4.1.... I will create a new package and upload in the next few minutes.

Thank you for pointing it out

EDIT: Done! Hopefully done right this time. Nothing to worry or do about it... Just wait while until it becomes available and install/upgrade using the application manager.

If I change settings for 'Show SMS button' to 'Cell phone only', I never get to see any SMS button, not even with mobile phone numbers. If i choose to change this setting to 'Any Phone', I can see a SMS button with every phonenumber.

Great application by the way, I would love to keep the widget permenantly on the desktop without having to reinstall it after every reboot.

The only reason I can think of (guess at this point) for you to not see the SMS button for cell phones is that the backend returns a different "context" based on the phone language. What is your "device language"?
