OSM I tried a little bit in EU and APAC and it is quite alright as well, it's also open which is nice and covers more terrain than HERE. Google hasn't updated their maps in years in my experience, so they missed the boat as far as I'm concerned.
I actually don't care if the background map data is from HERE or Google or OSM or whatever.
