Ran above and the device definately seems quicker all over. In and out of applications, back and forth between multitasking apps and home screen.

Simply put i wont be reversing!!! This is how the device should have been from the get go. Thank you sir!!!

Will the debs offer further improvement over this?

What should root's login shell profile improve it's mostly path settings, and 'mesg n'.

no problem guys

some answers :
the debs are the same as the 1st post's versions
just to make easier install

as lstrike21 confirmed
then i will edit the speedpatch.deb to support that

@don_falcone

it launches .bashrc
which will create the pid of the process inside /dev/cgroup/cpu/user
check by your self

it will be even better if you made bash3 the default shell (just like me)

i will do some more tests and post the debs on another thread cause the 1st post is very heavy now also the thread it self also this stup|d poll above as there is no SMART MODER can remove it !!!
what you think ?should i create another thread?

it "launches" .bashrc?

.bashrc is the session settings file for bash, that means its contents are loaded & executed everytime a bash shell is openend, so not only for login shells like .bash_profile.

"which will create the pid of the process inside /dev/cgroup/cpu/user"

You mean so that there is already a bash process running in the system that is used for all tasks according to cgroups from the moment of spawning via .profile, instead of ash? So basically all user tasks run under bash instead of ash? Sorry, i still don't get it. Maybe it's the language barrier too.

I do not think that bash is quicker, especially for login / system shells. That's for example why ubuntu (and god i hate that distro!) switched to dash (which is debian's version of ash, hence "Debian Almquist Shell) for the default shell, because it's lightweight in opposite to bash.

i will explain more :

".bashrc is the session settings file for bash "

this is correct
but our N900 doesn't use bash unless you made bash3 the default shell using bash-setup command

------------------------------
"which will create the pid of the process inside /dev/cgroup/cpu/user"

this will make the current terminal session get cgrouped
and if you see the content of /root/.profile which is copied to /home/user
you will understand more
you may tell me to put the content of .bashrc in .profile
but if i did that
the /dev/cgroup/cpu/user will be flooded with numbers
but if i made .profile launches the content of .bashrc
this will make pid number of the current terminal shell disappear when the session is closed

Although not sure about that yet (the pid number disappearence)
maybe because i have bash3 my default shell
that's why i'm making more tests

and btw english is not my first language

EDIT :
i don't mean to use bash as the default shell
although it work better than ash in my N900 IMO

I did check, that's why i'm asking because the causality is not clear to me. Basically you are saying, that without spawning bash from ash, the (any?) terminal session is not crouped. Is that right? Also, is that also the case for non-interactive shells?

"you may tell me to put the content of .bashrc in .profile"

Why do we need bash? That's the question here, for me. By the way: the contents of '/root/.bashrc' are basically:

Code:
# ~/.bashrc: executed by bash(1) for non-loginshells.

export PS1='\h:\w\s '
umask 022

(some lines relevant to 'ls' command options / aliases that are commented out)
I simply do not see why we need bash, even more since the defaults above (alt least they are the defaults on my N900 in root's home) are basically irrelevant, because they only alter the file umask and the shell prompt.

(neither is my 1st language English, mine's German.)

ran it also and its super fast. what exactly did it do to the system? i also modded custom-karams lower freq to 500 and no joke the way the phone is moving is like when i use to overclock to 1000...without the hit to the battery. i can actually use my phone now instead of making the decision as before just peek at it and force myself to put it away for fear of being left high and dry when i really needed it.

using the battery deb and karams profile but i'm not over confident that the profile is extending my battery life it's difficult to tell as no 2 days are alike'
i removed all the last battery script using the removal instructions but left karams profile as my profile then ran the deb which i verified was working. decisions decisions lol
