Thank you.

I did see that a while back in the thread.
For some reason i didn't think that was the solution as I thought it mentioned a previous version of E.Debian.

Anyway works now.
Thanks again.

I seem to have accidently removed all my panels in the LXDE. The only
way I know how to create a panel is by tapping in an existing panel. Since
I do not have any panels this is rather difficult! Is there a way to restore,
say, a left side panel without reinstalling easy Debian. Also, one thing I did notice is that when
I start Debian LXDE the left side panel does seem to appear for a fraction
of a second. I do not understand why this happens either.

You could download the easy-deb-chroot Debian package from the package page, extract it with dpkg -x in some temporary directory and just move over the contents of <TMPDIR>/home/user/.config/lxpanel/LXDE/panels.

Well, I visit these pages fairly frequently in the hope of getting answers to my own questions, such as those, but invariably find me in the position of dealing with questions others have.
qole, can you hear my prayers?

rebhana, I know I need to make a new image with all new hacks to deal with upgrades in OO.o and pulse. But that is a large undertaking, and this continues to be a very stressful period of my life right now. I've been limited to bite-sized pieces when I get spare moments.

when I try to update the catalogs I get:
Code:
Chroot dir specified: /.debian
No image file or partition specified.
ls: /media/mmc1/debian*.img*: No such file or directory
/.debian has a qmount already!
/home/user/MyDocs/debian-m5-v3d.img.ext2 already mounted on /.debian...
Everything set up, running chroot...
[root@deb-m5v3d: /]leafpad

(process:2793): Gtk-WARNING **: Locale not supported by C library.
	Using the fallback 'C' locale.
Then the update goes normaly. but the lines:

Code:
Process:2793): Gtk-WARNING **: Locale not supported by C library.
	Using the fallback 'C' locale.
also apear when I try to update Open Office. I can't update OO to 3.2. Also when I try to set up locales like described in the wiki there are some problems.

The locale warning might have to do with using "debian" instead of "debsu". With the latter, you should get the language environment set up by dpkg-reconfigure locales.

What problem do you have with OO?

qole, I didn't want to put extra burdens on you. It may in fact make sense to wait for a new image for squeeze to become stable. But do the error messages I posted in context with libpulse0 from squeeze give you any idea what I could try to do with pulse?
