Could you post the output of dmesg after running the device for a while? Or possibly even after the freeze if you can log in using ssh.

I will next time, for sure. I just restarted.

It should also be stated that though the homescreen is unresponsive, it is only the apps/shortcuts/widgets. My wifes contact shortcut works fine (for instance), I can move between desktops, and if I hit the menu key, the menu opens and I can interact with applications that way. It seems like low level "device stuff" works, but shortcuts and whatnot, don't.

I don't know what all of that means, but it might be important to the more knowledgable types...

Thanks for the help,
Phono

LOVING the Lehto 125/900mhz kernal. Running it for about 2-3 days. No issues, excessive heat. Plays YouTube well, faster interface, etc.

Battery:
Hard to really say for sure. First day I thought it was lasting longer by about 10%. Second day I thought maybe draining 10% faster. My conclusion is that battery life very dependent on usage. Heavy usage with processor hitting 900mhz more often makes battery drain faster than stock. On light usage day, the 125mhz idle makes battery last longer than stock.

Heat:
Very minimal increase in heat. That said, I am not much of a gamer, so the most I stressed my CPU was probably 3-5 minutes.

About info is gone. Still ranges between 125/900mhz after phone usage. Stays at 500mhz -900 mhz when on USB. I reinstalled Firefox as I think Flash had stopped working.

Tried the Lehto 125/950mhz + 500mhz dsp kernal and it was slower, jerky.

Also tried the Titan maemo-kernel-flasher but I couldnt figure out how to over clock and it seemed like every one was still ironing it out (phone app issue and such) so I am going to wait on that.

Have to say, I think the N900 name and 900mhz working so well seems too perfect to be a coincidence. I think Nokia Marketing wanted 900 mhz, Nokia engineering wanted to play it safe, and Nokia Legal said lets cover our *** and avoid bad PR from a brick or two.

THANK YOU SO MUCH GUYS, THIS IS AWESOME!
(Finally, sorry for adding yet another post to this epic thread. Took me like 6 hrs to read this!)

Titan: I understand you are busy but had to ask anyway..

I don't remember (have been a lot of reading) but think you said before that you was planning an undervoltage kernel. Have you abandoned that project or is it on it's way? I guess it is still too unstable.. but a little report of it would be nice.

Did you install some other things? I'm asking because i had this issue also some times since i have my n900, but it did not happen often, maybe 5 times since 2 month, but i had that issue also before overclocking. my homescreen also sometimes just "looses" some widgets. one moment they are still there, the next they are gone and have to be activated again.

so i think your problem should not be because of the oc!!!

It is not correct, see my post - http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...postcount=1638

There seem to be bugs reported for similar behavior, so it is not necessarily overclock-related.

However, better to make sure first that there is no file corruption or something caused by the overclock.

Try to set ignoring "nice"-ed applications in frequency governor -

echo "1" >/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/ondemand/ignore_nice_load
