Was this issue ever fixed?

Ive got simple brightness App installed, but it doesnt showup in the status area!

I can change my brightness from Display section of settings and Ive never done anything with gconf to my knowledge.

I had simple brightness app installed before I put the community SSU on and Ive tried removing and reinstalling it and it still doesnt show up!

Ive attached the output of the requested command incase it helps

Thanks so much for everything so far. Its giving me more faith in keeping the N900 as my all in one device for everything (although my camera cover spring has gone funny!)

Any chances on changing the call screen for incoming calls so that we don't accidently cut people off?

Also what about fixing the issue where if you get a missed call the phone connects to the internet/starts streaming/playing music as a result of the media player widget on the desktop?

in version 12.5

Application Manager is practically unusable in real life. Constantly scanning and even clicking < button the Application rescan again and again and again and again and again.. FFS I just want to go back one level or quit, why does it have to keep scanning?

I'm reinstalling the default HAM but failed

BUG:

If phone app is opened in portrait mode, clicking on the blank textbox, the virtual keyboard is opened and whether the Conversations, Browsers, notepad or leaftpad or whatever, it will rotate the device to portrait whether you're on Landscape mode.

Hi all,
Just noticed a weird side-effect of the CSSU - I cannot modify anything on the desktop. I don't know when it started, but I'm pretty much sure it worked nicely before the move to CSSU.

Both, a long press on the desktop and the 'gear' icon that shows up on top won't activate the desktop editing mode. Now, there is a possibility that something else is interfering, but the CSSU was installed on pretty vanilla-like PR1.3 - from system modifying apps/packages there are the power kernel, swappolube and tweakr (and some of my modifications to the gstreamer and bluetooth stack that should not affect the desktop in any way), and the only thing I can think of affecting the desktop is the custom operator name widget. I use the Nokia NSeries theme with no additional modifications to it whatsoever (tho I tried other themes as well, it doesn't fix the problem).

As for the desktop itself, I use only three with very few widgets - OMWeather, Media Player, Calendar, Personal Dataplan Monitor and Personal IP Address + regular app shortcuts, contacts and bookmarks.

All other things work flawlessly, including the newly added transitions, but this prevents me now to use the Media Player Widget (and consequently my car's BT system that appears to use it for BT media control) as I can't apply the ages old fix to it - removing it and then re-adding it to the desktop.

Any ideas?
