Warranty might be the only real difference.
Aren't the UK and the EU versions also different ?

As far as I know and read, no. The only differences are regional keyboard layouts ... umlauds, regional characters as in italy, germany, france, poland, etc. Anything else, hardware and software related is exactly the same. I am also considering purchasing an US version and I tried to search for the advantages and disadvantages of purchasing an US version of the phone. The only differences remains the warranty and those missing 11-13 channels limited by software. I don't see it as a major barrier.
Once again, could anyone tell what is the spread of 11,12,13 channels in wireless networks in europe?

This is UK thread...asking here is pointless, most of us got no clue what the Yankees uses across the pond.

By 3G bands you mean 3G and 3.5G (HSDPA) ?

F*cking c*nts at UPS left a note, despite there being someone in the room next to the door. I doubt they even bothered ringing the doorbell. C*nts.
I don't want to lose this N900 on top of the 2k they stole from me the last time I had something come through them

And now I have to lose a day's pay and stay at home to make sure they turn up now. C*nts.

No worries - I know exactly what you mean. I've waited many a time for deliveries - looking out the window at the only place the delivery person can go and the next minute the computer says the delivery attempt was made and no one was home!
That's when I'm lucky - it usually ends up saying delivered and the signature is something random and it never got to my house!

It all makes me feel a bit sick - and now with my N900 - I actually got it delivered ok - I was over the moon - until the microphone didn't work - now I have to risk transporting it another two directions in order to get it repaired. A lot of praying to do for me I think!

All the best with your next delivery - I hope it goes well - and all works fine for you!

I ordered from shop.nokia.co.uk on Oct 22nd. So now on top of the cost of the phone, I lose a day's pay (I don't get paid when I'm not at work) as well due to waiting for the UPS man and making sure he doesn't steal the phone like a package getting stolen last time
