Yeah, Laughting man is right...

For me, control over folder access is important. I carry around 1 folder of MP3 of famous speeches and 1 folder of comedy. I also have lots of songs. In Canola, you give me no way to block the speeches or comedy from music playback. Ive been learning to get podcasts from New York Times in MP3 format. I don't want Canola to play those.

There's no downer so bad as when you listen to music and along comes the state of the union address or some stupid news report.
I don't why you can't do that =)
Just go to settings -> Media library -> Audio Folders -> your memory card -> select only the folders you WANT canola to "index" the music.

The others will not show in canola. It's a little bit more of work then just selecting the card, but it works for your case.

=)

gregale & canola 2 . I'm trying to add this finnish net radio (Radio Helsinki) http://217.30.180.253:8000/listen.pls, but I get an error there is no feed in this address. I tried the same with Canola 1 in the past, with the same result. I can play these streams with Nokia media player though.
Another stream with same results is http://217.30.180.242:8000/rspo.mp3.m3u

Am I doing something wrong?

ICE man :

It's very odd this issue, we have some 770 with 2006 and it's very slow in the first run, but then it becomes "more usable". Also it depends on for example what kind of video do you have.

but I will not lie, the first version works a lot better on the 770, it was made from scratch for that device, and dealt with all the problems back them...

The Canola2 can run, but seems that for a lot of users is way too slow.

Do you have the latest mplayer for 770 available?
Do you have only mp3s? small photos only?
Swap is enabled? Enable maximum swap possible

I only use canola for music. I had it set to not look anywhere for anything except my card for music. Startup is rather slow and then when I try to play a song it takes forever to start.

It did seem to get better but not good enough for me :P

It's hard to be fast like the first version on that device because first version as really optimized for that.. : /

Hi Handful, I was wondering about the Podcast option, when I DL a podcast it auto goes into the podcast folder, and when I DL a Video Podcast it does the same, but when you go to your video Icon to play the video that I DL it won't show up as it resides in the Podcast folder and NOT the Video folder. So my question would be will this be addressed in the next update (as we've talked before about adding the VideoCast option) or at some point will there be an option in the settings onto which folder to DL Podcasts/Videocasts to ?

For the time being I just do the DL's and then move the vidcasts from the podcast folder into the video folder and it all works fine.

I've also DL the latest 0.2.5 Tuner and it seems to work great.

If you want the video player to see the videos in your podcast folder just set the podcast folder as one of your watched directories for videos.

Thanks hfw01, I have all those folders checked but for whatever reason it won't pick them up.

EDIT:

It does work, if after I DL the videocast then go into settings and refresh the folders, so yes it does work, thx again hfw01.

Guys,

For upcoming releases, we will add the ability to launch the videoplayer if in the podcast there's video, but you actually will be able to have a videocast plugin also soon. so this will be more for the "mixed" podcast.
