If you want the video player to see the videos in your podcast folder just set the podcast folder as one of your watched directories for videos.

Just go to settings -> Media library -> Audio Folders -> your memory card -> select only the folders you WANT canola to "index" the music.
The others will not show in canola. It's a little bit more of work then just selecting the card, but it works for your case.
