I can't seem to delete/edit some sections:

I associated .dat for testing with Mplayer but now I can't delete the association via the GUI
In Uri section I'd like to associate rtsp with Mplayer so I can start streams(m.youtube.com) directly with Mplayer but I can't edit it.
(a way for launching the real youtube in mplayer would be great too)

I have uploaded a new version with a fixed postinst.

If you can, please remove all of your manual edits and help me figure out how to get the gui working.

Nowlseems allright. The key was to change also in the "defaults" tab. I didn't remind this was necessary from the N810 times No need for manual editing.

Thank you for your efforts Qole!

Only problem I've encountered so far is with the URI tab - changes made in URI tab do not hold. Trying to change association for rtsp:// streams

Had a look at the source and part of the problem is that a lot of file locations are hard coded and incorrect/commented out.

Honestly, I'd dare say writing a GUI from scratch would be easier than debugging that code.

Downloaded latest version which installed python-glade2 as dependancy but when I try to launch GUI or call it in Xterm I get following error.

Code:
/home/user # dbus-switchboard-gui
process 1817: arguments to dbus_connection_get_data() were incorrect, assertion "connection != NULL" failed in file dbus-connection.c line 5757.
This is normally a bug in some application using the D-Bus library.
process 1817: arguments to dbus_connection_set_data() were incorrect, assertion "connection != NULL" failed in file dbus-connection.c line 5721.
This is normally a bug in some application using the D-Bus library.
Aborted
Any ideas.

Edit - That was as root. When run as user GUI shows. When I try to run from Icon it crashes as before. Looks like a permission problem maybe.

Any program that uses dbus run as root will give you this error. This is by design, and is not a bug.

Thanks aspidites
One bug I did notice is that because it is run as user I had to change permisions on a couple of files. One was applications default list and the other dbus-switch-apps.cfg.
I kept getting permission denied errors when trying to save.

I wonder how much time it would take to hack up a GUI in Qt....

** pokes around reluctantly at the source code again **

[update]
** cries at the thought and runs to hide **
