That is what the apt-get is there for.

@qwerty12: you just gave him a qwerty12 quality (hi quality, advance ranking, intelligent) answer . I hope he gets it.

How about a bunanson level (oldest noob, step by step) answer:

wget needed to be installed first.

re-do the wget step,

xterm
sudo gainroot
apt-get install wget

If the message "you already have the latest wget version....."
then you proceed with step G, wget Fanosh's file....etc

if wget remains not installed, or not properly installed, go gronmayer.com/it/ and search for wget and install via app manager. I had problem with apt-get install wget too. I went thru app manager and it installed fine.

Post back results.

@qwerty12: Hey, you suppose to help on big/complicated/mind splitting Diablo things. Easy stuff, let me handle it, let bunanson shine, at least for a short moment

Once again thanks for the help. I am on step (K) and entered (mv zImage kernel_flasher/).

The response is 'no such such file or directory'?

Thanks in advance..

Since I updated the wget the previous steps seem to set up ok?

Wow, just wow!

I actually got this to work perfectly by following your step by steps!

Can you imagine that?

I can't even do anything right, just ask Qwerty, he'll agree!

Thank you nemo and qwerty and bun and everyone else that pitched in to make this possible.

You know windows, right? In general, that error message suggests the system cannot find the file.

Problem,
1) typo, check the file name
2) not at the right place, check your pathway or directory
3) do not have the file, did not dl properly

Solution,
on the command line,
ls
this will list your file, same as dir in the window world
and cd to the right directory. cd means change directory,
keep on cd and ls, to find your source file and the destination directory, you will get it. Post back results, we will help you. Its a very rewardable experience, get something to work and at the same time, learn a new language and find out how difficult for you to follow instructions. Just kidding,

There it is, sorry it's so long.
Very well done, nemo. It worked for me. Instructions very clear.

I gather that there is a way for the N810 to automatically rotate the screen back to landscape mode when the keyboard is slid out. Could someone please write up detailed instructions to do this?
I have managed to rotate the screen but it doesn't automatically return to landscape mode when the keyboard is slid out.

Got rotation working in Diablo.

Note: Between Nemo's steps 4 and 5 I had to directly install rotate-sb-plugin. The automatic install in step 5 failed without this (even though once I got to step 5 (after installing plugin), it complained that I already had the plugin installed!).

I'm a little "special"...what exactly do you mean you had to 'directly install' it?

I'd like to update the wiki for Diablo since it's out now...sadly I won't be installing it until we figure out how to boot from the memory card.

Hey nemo,

I *think* I'm remembering this correctly...

When I clicked on your link for the automatic install at step 5, app manager told me that the install failed because rotate-sb-plugin could not be found (or something like that). So I went to the sse2.net/rotate and found the link for the dedicated .deb for that plugin. Once that installed, I clicked on the automatic install link again. That installed successfully too, although it insisted on telling me that the rotate-sb-plugin was already installed---even though the automatic install failed without first installing the plugin by itself.

EDIT: Amazing. For the first time I add something useful around here, and what do I get: a promotion to Senior Member. Unfortunately, that might be the largest hoax ever perpetrated...
