Well, no it wasn't. MaemoExperts hadn't seen this thread, so that post was the first in anew one, which then got merged into this one. So it wasn't obvious to him/her when they made that post. Sadly, vBulletin doesn't edit post content to fit into a new thread.

Do I gather it's been settled this is a hardware fault and needs rplacing? No luch on the software attempts?

Hi guys, thought I'd stop by to say I received my N900 this morning. Just a pity I'm posting in this thread. As you may be able to guess, I've got the same mic problem! Still sounding like a hardware fault then. hmm great fun after the wait. Oh well, such is life I suppose.

Sorry to hear that.

Can you let us know how you turn on your phone?
Charge first then turn on
Or turn on without charging and found the issue immediately?

Well all i did was get it out and begin to play with it straight from the box with no problems AT ALL. The only trouble i'm having is navigating around the thing.

Hi, I decided to just turn it on after the manual said it would have charge & wasn't quite sure where we stood with the best way to try it. Anyway! When I got in, first thing I did was make a call and notice the mic issue. I then confirmed it with recording a video.

For added info, mine is 15415 leaving out the last digit if that is right.

That's what I wanted to hear, for someone to prove that I'm wrong.

Well I'm glad I could help with the theory at least! I wasn't sure which statement to go by. Although I did forget to hold it above my head while spinning around chanting maemo maemo maemo! Dammit! Maybe I could have held the problem at bay if only I'd thought quicker.
