We have released new version of LiveWallpaper - 0.6.

This version has only one important feature - "Possibility to use all displays for show of animated wallpaper"

I know we have live wallpaper ala city scenes and xsnow, but I have also been talking to the devs who implemented the live wallpaper support and got a few hints for prospective devs:

There is also the test program which could be easier to read than xsnow:
http://maemo.gitorious.org/fremantle...test-live-bg.c
we need to organise packaging really to make this a fully usable core example for others to base their designs off.

vlad,
hope you are well and the heatwave isn't getting you too much

are you having any implementation issues which we could need to address, please do not hesitate to file bugs and mail me about them, we can discuss how to handle them with you

I have heard that other live-bg items may be in the pipeline too, so the smoother and more integrated we can get this, the better.

ps, we should really sort out the first post on this thread and centralise the information currently pushed into this thread in a single wiki page/concise first post.
if we do make a wiki, can a moderator perhaps amend the first post to highlight this to save people digging through pages of info?

Thanks Lcuk.
I didn't know about xsnow and about example in hilson-desktop sources.
We will examine it.

Hi All.
Mustali Dalal has founded the serious bug of LiveWallpaper. http://maemo.org/packages/package_in...wallpaper/0.6/
I have fixed this problem in version 0.6.1. Please test it.

Hi Vlad,

since the last update my battery is draining when the phone is offline during the night.
I haven't installed anything new but just enabled the other 3 screens with the live wallpaper!
Can it be that screen 2, 3 and 4 is causing the drainage?

No....
Just enabled the first screen and still a drainage...
maybe the app itself is eating my battery ???
