Come on. Someone has to know what to do from here.
If I connect with usb while holding u key I am taken to a penguin screen. The prompt says
omap3 RX-53:
if I type 'help' it pumps out a long stream of options that are unfortunately too small and dark to read. Someone please tell me what I can enter here to get my phone to boot up. I've been at it absolutely all day and have gotten nowhere.

Nothing can be done from u-boot. Apparently it puts the system in a state that the maemo kernel can't cope with. You can try to prepare an SD for meego and try to boot that (command run mmcboot in u-boot prompt), maybe meego kernel can cope.

Supposedly, the N900 does not enter flash mode because the battery level is too low. Try charging it in an external charger or another phone that uses this battery (5800, for example), and then you should be able to flash stock kernel.

Hi,

I had same problem and followed the Deinstallation section here to revert back to stock kernel, which included flashing the kernel :

http://wiki.maemo.org/Kernel_Power#Deinstallation

I'm ok now.
I will try v45 when it's out.

I flashed from 32bit XP.

EDIT: Just tried v45 and got u-boot problems.
Flashed back to stock 1.3 kernel again

Windows 7 32bit is fine, you should have no problems at all.

It must be as Matan said, that my battery is just too low on charge....I've been through just about every other option with no joy

It seems that the powerkernel is getting installed into /boot/

If this is the case then go root and then

Code:
mv /boot/2.6.28.10power44 /boot/multiboot/vmlinuz-2.6.28.10power44
It could be that the 2.6.28.10power44 is a bit different in /boot/ if this is so edit it like that

Also don't forget to edit your item files
If you use multiboot you should always run this command after installing a new version of power-kernel:
Code:
apt-get install kernel-power-bootimg
apt-get install --reinstall multiboot-kernel-power
Upon reboot, open slider, choose power kernel from multiboot. N900 will turn off. Close slider, turn back on.

The camera apps are still not working with the v45 kernel.
Everything else is running fine and the battery is lasting much much longer then before.
Keep up the good work titan.
