The 2 games shown have been out for the iPhone for awhile and surprisingly they were targeted for the orignal iPhone/3G (pre-Cortex A8) with same graphics.

btw. In my opinion FPS is more important than resolution (to some extent) on speedy games. So using this device's optimal resolution with this processor will probably mean that you have to take away some details to make it run as smooth as on iphone.
And actually it makes complete sens to not use optimal resolution because pixel density is so high that user will probably not even notice lower resolution.
