This reminds me the infamous Nokia Plan B:
http://www.geek.com/articles/mobile/...an-b-20110215/
MeeGo will become Nokia’s primary smartphone platform
I never bought it, that it would had been only a prank from an Apple-fan, like it was explained later.
Too much sense in it to be funny. I just wonder, how much money was used as bribes to shut the authors down.

Hopeless. Maybe a petition to have Elop say "We will continue supporting and developing Meego" to media is more possible.

We're wasting our time....
But I've always tried to be a "glass is half full" guy at TMO* so I may begrudgingly add my vote.

*Jesus it's not easy I can tell you, esp. with all the "hard headed" cynicism from some here!

I have another view at things, and wonder if we should make a device, best like the N900 that runs Maemo. This is stable, and the KDE variant would be MeeGo - like Ubuntu and Kubuntu. Then you can pick and choose, those that make applications can make them, and when we sell, it is easy to cut a deal with HTC and Samsung to provide the platform on their hardware, replacing Android. I need a project, would love to put SCADA on it. Let Nokia do what they like, including suicide, just see to that you somewhat benefit from it. It never works to try to train an old horse, and in particular to discuss and argue with it. The old horse will trott the old path, none of you have the carrot it takes to make it change.

Yep, but the Plan B actually made sense and Nokia's situation wouldn't be so catastrophic now if they would had taken the plan B.

March 6, 2012 – In its newly released February MobileSTAT, Jumptap, the leader in targeted mobile advertising, revealed that Android and iOS together make up 91 percent of the mobile OS market. Based on data from the Jumptap network of more than 95 million monthly users, both operating systems reached new heights in January; Android hit 58.8 percent and iOS reached 32.2 percent market share respectively.
