It's very dead.

Most devs will go wherever Qt is located or where the SDK allows them the level of control and ability they crave so much.

So what's next? Looking like a split between BB10 and Jolla for the meantime, but further down the road who knows. Definitely not WP8.

I don't understand this statement. What is wrong with ported apps?

Actually the belief is that ported apps are not optimized, but with Qt, porting is fluid and things run natively. Optimization is maximum with little effort

Sailfish and Ubuntu. Maybe BB10 if the API gets better in future.

And harmattan also of course.

If you have an OS full of only ported apps.. What will happen to its own market? Its own apps? Every OS should be special of its own market, not using another platform's apps and games.

I wouldn't associate with Mega at all IMHO.
I'm supporting every Qt enabled platform, old, new, good or bad.

knobtviker,

You are referring to Kim's Mega but bibek is referring to just a one-stop huge app store for all Qt apps with sections for different devices something like getjar etc...

/at least that's what I understand...

Some personal thoughts I extract from this thread:

First, it's very sad to see MAG leaving us, checking the "dark-side-and-evil-empire-forces" iOS & Android options. Hope he will jump in the Sailfish vagon soon or later.

Second, kinda funny to see our little boy AMD growing and becoming a man in the devel world. Kudos and good luck.

Third, S60 != Modern Symbian.

And last, gerbick, imma start thinking you will never keep your word of "leaving TMO"...
