Nice one, Estel!
Automatic start and check would be nice feature (more info via PM ).

Mohammed, please open your own thread for your faulty N900. It really is not (yet) related to this topic.

I believe this is very useful even for noobs like me. Even if my phone is overclocked to 900mhz, i experience slowdowns after 2 days of uptime due to swap issues. I always have to reboot my phone to make it responsive again. A tutorial on how to make 2 partitions would be very appreciated.

no it doesnt laf straight after reboot. for example yesterday i just dint do nythng with my phone. i charged it and was bzy the whole day. just took few calls. and then it began to lag. then i rebooted and evrythng was fine. when i got some free time i used opera to browse a little bit. suddenly touch wasnt working. boom. slowed down.power key wasnt working. had to open the battery.

as kent suggested a noob guide to make partitions and then what to do would be great because evryone who owns a N900 would love to see the best for their respective devices.

thank you

@mr_pingu

No, it's not working OK, if You're getting message like that. reswap.stat is a file where counter data is keep, and if it can't get access to it, it means that it doesn't count written megabytes properly.

Could You please check if gaining root *before* and running ereswap as next command fixes the problem for You? Anyway, added to my todo list.

@don_falcone
Sure thing, those two tools shouldn't collide.

all unrelated problems with device performance(tm)
Please stop this discussion here, it's not correct place.

As for refreshing swap automatically, I haven't included it, as it would be dangerous thing to do under very heavy RAM/CPU usage. Ho ever, peterleinchen PM'em me with quite nifty solution, (thanks a lot!) that, upon hitting limit, inform user few times, asking for confirmation to start swapping process (so, You can just answer no and do it later manually, or agree). I'll try to merge it with ereswap

What do you exactly mean with *before*? As you could see in the log I gained root before...

sudo gainroot so as sudo ereswap.sh, seems to give that error while when using rush and root to gain root works fine.

Something with the sudoers file?

And I agree of removing the .sh
