After a long night out, I noticed the stylus was missing from my phone; "Oh no, where's it gone? Ah, that's right I gave it to Jonwil".
I have a couple spare in my desk at home.

I use a plastic mechanical pencil with the graphite retracted: Paper Mate SHARPWRITER.

Some time ago someone on IRC freenode #maemo iirc sicelo, asked for homemade stylus for N900. So, I tried make one for fun.

First was piece of copper cable 1.5mm with isolation. It's quite instant to make but too much softness (easy bending).

Second was 2.5mm steel rod with piece of isolation on the tip. It's more stiff then previous one but ugly, can corrode and with hands contact smells (it's not stainless).

And third was 2.5mm copper wire with piece of isolation on the tip. It's quite stiff, looks better than previous and doesn't smeel with hands contact. It's best so far.

To make a tip I've ground one end to 1.2mm diameter and put on it a piece of isolation.

Diameter is not critical (max around 3 something mm) because wire ending shape (fot) does the lock into phone.

Cheers

Stylus number 1 might be the best out of them with 1.5mm steel rod instead of copper. I don't have any of that to test stiffness and other properties. Maybe someone else will test it.

Is this an exact replica (minus the Nokia logo) size-wise?
If not, can someone post the exact dimensions of the original stylus?

I just bought a N900 and it came with no stylus, and can't find any locally.

Thanks!

Here is an exact replica of Nokia N900 stylus on Thingiverse:

I am fairly sure I made it in local makerspace, once or twice (one of them was in bronze), but I am not sure if I will be able to find them, or photographs of them (they were relatively fragile, more fragile than originals I think; but to be fair, I have broken a few original styluses through the years as well).

Thank you. Best wishes.
