This one is interesting.

It actually says Made in Japan. It's also not that cheap.
I might actually get one to see how it is.
Not all aftermarket batteries are bad btw.
Just that there are too many bad ones out there.

I expect this to be "GOLD" colored casing and nothing more.
Well, they may have used gold contacts but that's nothing new.

I see one negative rebiew about this particular "gold" battery.
It's actually not that bad either. Also, 32 negative out of 8371 isn't bad. =P

"didn't hold charge anywhere near as much as genuine battery, say 75% of it."

75% of 1930mAh? wow. that's excellent if that was the case.

BUT... I can buy a genuine Nokia original BL-5J for about the same price. So for me, this isn't worth it.

Yes, that's true. I saw it on television a nokia phone exploded while she's holding the phone because of faulty battery and you already know what happened to her hand.... good thing she still have 5 fingers on her right hand.. haha..

Well he said 75 percent of original, and original is 1320 not 1930.

The amusing thing about these "Gold" batteries is that they're available in various different physical sizes, but always have something great like 1930 capacity... suspicious

man, that is misuse of brass......

e: unless you want to make your n900 a pipe bomb. I bet that casing could deliver some serious shrapnels....

bare in mind that Nokia pulled away from Japan. So why would battery for the 5800 is made is japan? There are plenty of china made batteries out there. The photos is just a sticker with gold colour. Not actually gold.

could anyone buy it and test it out?

Just because it says Made in Japan doesn't actually mean it was. Less than reputable Chinese manufacturers will slap just about anything on their product to try and sell it.

The fact that there's so little text tells me it's not. Never mind that the string of kanji there is Chinese, and it has no manufacturer label at all.

I also love that the packaging has ORIGINAL printed on it twice, as if to reassure you it isn't a nameless, cheap knockoff. Buying that is about as trustworthy as buying thumb drives and SD cards off eBay.
