... I looked into the backup files just now and the .gpe directory is indeed within the documents.zip file. So it is in the back up...
Is *all* the GPE PIM data backed up (contacts, etc.)? What version is this fixed in? I'm using 2.8 from here: http://www.cobb.uk.net/770/index.html#gpe

PS: In order to restore everything, in the event of disaster, is this the right procedure (best to be prepared!):
1. reflash 2006
2. install the WLAN bug fix .deb
3. install GPE PIM
4. Control Panel --> Restore from backup
