Hmm, most of those tips would have been more appropriate for the last month's theme.
There is one crucial tip missing: how to get to those abandoned buildings in the first place?

Well that is hard to say because every city is different.
For instance, in my city there is an old sanatorium in the mountain and I can get to it without getting in trouble.
I will do more research and maybe provide more help for this.

Can "an old sanatorium in the mountain" count as an "urban wasteland"?

Here in the UK even the nature is behind fences, let alone derelict buildings
