You can't. Period. Nitdroid is HEAVILY dependant on Maemo, HEAVILY. So as a summary:
No Maemo=No Nitdroid
so far as i know calls and sms are still on the works.. but data connection works great as i observed there is a slight improvement on battery for this release.. depending on how you manage using it, i think it wont go to the extent of being unuseable..
i wouldnt dump maemo for now afterall this is still on development.. im just enjoying to dual boot anytime i want.. for tutorials just follow the threads imsure youll manage

people who dont have a memory card only have one option and that is to install on internal memory.
also if you install on internal then its quite a lot faster as internal has faster transfer than external
and also less heat is generated if it is on internal
but internal is a lot more risky as both maemo and nitdroid are on the same hard drive.
