For anybody who cant hear the voice, please make sure you have the Normal Profile selected, not the Silent one.

How is the newly found one compared to omvoice?

From the instructions,

A. Change your device language to English (USA)

what if the phone (as is my case) is set to English (United Kingdom)?
I don't want to change it as it messes up date formats etc. Anyone know if it will still work and what the limitations may be?

Actually I realized that omvoice is not working for me, but I think it's the same guy behind this and omvoice.

Just tried the turnbyturninstall.sh script and can confirm that it works.
Going to try it out in few hours.

This seems a ripoff from the excellent work of Blaizzen and others, which you can find on these very forums:
http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php...extra+features

All credits should be attributed to the developers in the above thread.

this has been available for ages :

http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=66985

proper credits goes to Blaizzen and all developers as stated above

some site copies their work and publish it without even stating their names, real shame...

please edit the first post and add link to the original thread..

[EDIT]

even the website uses files directly from people without mentioning names...
"wget http://www.pittnerovi.com/jiri/hobby/electronics/n900/maps.tar.gz"

original quote from Blaizzen

Thanks to Jiri, who has made a walkthrough on how to get voice navigation working (amongst other things )

I have noticed the development of the ovi maps here, but could get it to work. It was too hard for me.

The install script was the first easy solution that worked. I agree that the credits should go to the correct place, but they made it easy enough. So props for that. It would be even better, if they would make a .deb file so it would be even easier

Again, if the .sh-file was also on that same thread, it should have been put into the first post. Now there are multiple different solutions that do not work and some are quite difficult for average-joe to execute.
