-"N95-like" smartphones will be virtually non-existent in Nokia's line up by Q4 2010. Touchscreen and/or QWERTY almost 100% of all models.

-In 2010 Nokia increase internet capable models for developping markets. Software tools for 3rd world rural areas.

-N900 best mobile-internet device. N900 showing great demand.

-UI experimentation in Maemo will also benefit Nokia's smartphone and mobile phone platforms.

-Nokia recognizes that Europe isn't totally dominant in mobile technology anymore. Investments in North american development.

-Nokia Strongly committed to Symbian for foreseeable future. Allows to push Smartphones to new markets, flexible and best carrier support.

-Symbian allows Nokia to work with Microsoft. Edge in corporate market. Carriers like MS co-operation.

-Symbian ^4 wlll be cool. Opensource Symbian even cooler. Open approach not just software but also hardware (concerning Symbian).

-OPK even giving credit to Qualcomm. Qualcomm not evil anymore apparently.

-Nokia Money not limited to Nokia handset. Mobile money will be billion trillion gigazillion market in few years.

-Nokia is unmatched in market reach and understanding the local market needs globally. This allows Nokia to offer developers business opportunities in markets where they don't normally operate.

Hm. Strange. In the Finnish-language version of the same press release http://www.nokia.fi/nokia/lehdisto/t...newsid=1358676
Nokia says:
- ensimmäisen, käyttäjäkokemukseltaan ainutlaatuisen Maemo 6 -kyvykkään mobiilitietokoneen toimitukset vuoden 2010 toisen puoliskon aikana,
That translates to
- First, a unique user experience Maemo 6-enabled mobile computer with delivery during the second half of year 2010,
Just sayin'

Hm. Which is which? Those two press releases imply two completely different releases, namely one with maemo 6 and a device that is just maemo 6 capable, meaning it will be released with maemo 5 and can be updated to maemo 6 when that version is released.

Explain this to meeeee (and others)!

Kyvykkään is mistranlation. Translators translated "enabled" directly to word "kyvykäs", but thats not proper finnish. "Maemo-6 kyvykkään" is non-sense. Maybe they used Google translate.

Kai's finglish is easier to listen than OPK.

-Nokia wants to capture revenue on every price point. Not even considering "Apple-way" (I.e one device). Nokia not niche player. Value from whole mobile tech range.

-Symbian about 50%+ of Nokia's device revenue by 2011. S40 about 40%+. Maemo around 5-10%.

-Nokia only one that can fight both new players from Asia and established Western corporations.

-S40 world's most used mobile platform. Has connected billion people so far. Will connect another billion people.

-Ovi Mail grew faster on it's first year than Google mail and Yahoo mail.

-Holy crap. The Symbian love has reached new hights. Every speaker rams in the message: Symbian is Nokia's primary OS! Nokia execs seem to be extremly bored about all the "Nokia will dump Symbian" news.

-Kai also thinks that Symbian ^4 is really cool. He says that everyone will agree once it arrives.
